The field of communications and network security is rapidly evolving, with new threats and challenges emerging every day. As such, there is a growing need for survey and review papers to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art in the field of communications and network security, particularly in the areas of security, privacy, and authentication.

Within this Research Topic we invite survey and review papers that focus on the latest developments, trends, and best practices related to security, privacy, and authentication in communications and network security.

• Biometric Authentication
• Password-based Authentication
• Multi-factor Authentication
• Identity Management
• Access Control and Authorization
• Trust and Reputation Management
• Authentication in Mobile and Wireless Networks

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed, and the selected papers will be published in the Research Topic. Authors are encouraged to present comprehensive reviews and surveys of the literature, which contribute to the knowledge and understanding of the security, privacy, and authentication aspects of communications and network security.
