About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic, "New Mechanisms for Anti-Cancer Drugs" is to collect a group of publications focused on novel chemical compounds exhibiting new modes of actions and/or new target proteins to fulfill their cytotoxic activity on cancer cells. In this context, we will also be pleased to consider studies on drug repurposing, including approved, discontinued, and shelved drugs, when anti-cancer activity results from an unexpected mode of action.
This Research Topic welcomes Original Research, Mini Reviews, Perspectives, and Methods. The themes of this collection include but are not limited to the following areas:
1. Inhibitors of new kinases relevant to cancer
2. Drugs acting on new modes of cell death
3. Drugs targeting tumor suppressor genes
4. Cancer precision medicine with new targets
5. Cancer immunotherapy inhibiting new checkpoint
6. Metabolism-modulating anti-cancer drugs
Keywords: anti-cancer, biomarkers, drug discovery, immunotherapy, gene therapy, phytomedicine, cell signaling, cell cycle, oncogenes, protooncogenes, cyclins, cyclin dependent kinases
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
