The combination of two or more dissimilar materials in such a way one called as reinforcement and other one called as a matrix form the composite materials. They produce an exceptional property that not possess by anyone of the joining two materials. The development and replacement of these composites instead of conventional materials are tremendously increasing across the globe due to its low cost, less weight and high strength. As a sequence of this, the manufacturing process involving the composites production needs to be addressed in such a way a quality new material product addition in the form of fillers. The fillers especially generated as wastes possess to be a very good reinforcement for the production of advanced composite materials. The recycling of this wastes reduces the environment pollution also in a drastic manner. Over a decade various types of composites manufactured and reported by researchers such as natural fiber based, synthetic fiber-based polymer composites, metal matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites and biocomposites in the present scenario. Among these, polymer composites attract most automotive and aerospace sectors in replacing the conventional material.

The aim of the current Research Topic is to cover promising, recent, and novel research trends in the usage of fillers along with polymers, metals for making advanced composites with a focus on various aerospace and automotive components . Areas to be covered in this Research Topic may include, but are not limited to:

 - Development of Filler Based Advanced composites

 - Application of the Fillers in the study of the polymer, metal matrix composites manufacturing

 - Mechanical Performance Studies (e.g Tensile Strength, Flexural Strength , Impact Strength and Hardness)

 - Tribo Performance Analysis of Filler based Composites (e,g Wear, Erosion, Corrosion resistance)

 - Advanced Composites materials for Aero applications and its Characterization

 - Characterization techniques for Fillers and Polymers Structural analysis.

 - Characterization of Natural fibers.

The authors are intended to submit high quality review articles, short communications and original research manuscripts in the following topics but not limited to :

Keywords: Fillers, Polymers, Metals, Mechanical Properties, Characterization, Composites

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
