About this Research Topic

Manuscript Submission Deadline 31 January 2024

This Research Topic is still accepting articles. For authors aiming to contribute, please submit your manuscript today

Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology is delighted to present the ‘Reviews and Advances in’ series of article collections.

Membrane trafficking pathways are essential to maintain critical functions of the eukaryotic cell. Defects in membrane trafficking are associated with many pathologies including cancer. This collection will publish high-quality scholarly papers on key areas investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the role of membrane traffic in tumor cell growth and progression. We are aiming to highlight recent advances in the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We encourage submissions from early-career researchers and emerging independent investigators.

Areas of interest for this collection include, but are not limited to:

- the role of intracellular trafficking in cell proliferation, epithelial to mesenchymal transition and invasion

- The interplay between membrane transport and cytoskeleton dynamics

- Cancer receptors, the Endoplasmic Reticulum and the mitochondria

- Vesicle transport that contributes to tumor cell growth

- The role of caveolae in cancer progression

- Control of inter-organelle interactions by tumor suppressor proteins

We accept different article types including Mini-Reviews, Brief Research Reports and Perspectives. A full list of accepted article types, including descriptions, can be found at this link.

Keywords: collectionseries

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
