To celebrate World Health Day and the Anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), Frontiers in Rehabilitation Sciences is launching a series of research topics focused on drawing attention to prominent and emerging rehabilitation practices, concerns and developments all over the world.

In light of this, This Frontiers in Rehabilitation Sciences article collection aims to focus on environmental adaptations and the use of assistive technologies to aid a variety of end users with accessibility from a global perspective. We aim to take into consideration the experiences of a range of end users and the various environments in which these practices and technologies are implemented within. Furthermore, we aim to highlight the latest developments in environmental adaptations for accessibility within multiple fields (rehabilitation and clinical, but also social and economic).

Original research, opinion pieces, reviews, and case reports on the following (but not limited to) themes are welcome:

Advancements in assistive technologies: rehabilitative, clinical, and social environments

End user satisfaction of assistive technologies during rehabilitation

Innovative approaches in the field of environmental adaptations for accessibility

Advancements in environmental adaptions for accessibility with organizations

Implementation of best practices in the field of assistive technologies during rehabilitation

Emerging trends: environmental adaptations in rehabilitative, clinical, and social environments from a global health perspective
