Manuscript Submission Deadline 23 May 2024

Multi-omics research provides a global perspective to investigate the interplay between multiple omics profiles on disease aetiology. Leveraging this research in the field of tropical disease is imperative to provide novel insights into tropical disease. Overall, the objective of multi-omics research is to identify, characterize, and quantify biological molecules of different omics types that are involved in the function, and dynamics of a cell, tissue, or organism.

Until recently, most tropical disease research has focused mainly on single omics analysis and fails to account for the omics profiles. With the rise of large scale, high throughput multi-omics experiments, there is the need to harness multi-omics data and techniques to understand and provide more insights into tropical diseases.

The following themes are of particular interest:

- Tropical disease research that uses multi-omics data

- Tropical disease drug discovery research leveraging multi-omics data

- Tropical disease research that uses multi-omics analytical approaches

- Tropical disease research that uses multi-omics data to predict biomarkers

- Review on implementation of multi-omics data and techniques on specific tropical diseases

Keywords: Multi-omics, tropical disease, data integration, aetiology, biological molecules

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
