About this Research Topic
'Reviews in' is a series being launched across Frontiers in Biophysics' sections which aims to publish high-quality review articles on key topics within the field. The goal of this series is to highlight recent advances within the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries.
This Research Topic welcomes Review, Mini-Review and Systematic Review articles on topics related to membrane pores, channels and transporters, including, but not limited to:
- Roles of membrane pores, channels, receptors and transporters in physiology, systems, and regulation
The correlation of membrane protein structures and dynamics to the molecular mechanisms that carry out membrane permeation and translocation
The elucidation of their inter- and intra-molecular interactions in tissue, cells, native membranes, reconstituted systems, and model systems.
Molecular dynamics or systems simulation of any of the above mentioned aspects.
New articles will be added to this collection as they are published.
Keywords: membrane pores, membrane proteins, nuclear pore complex, ion channels, membrane channels, membrane receptors
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
