About this Research Topic
This Research Topic includes high-quality Perspective articles and Opinion articles published in Frontiers in Health Services in 2023. We invite researchers to submit their perspectives and opinions regarding the effectiveness, delivery or efficiency of health services, to ultimately contribute to helping health systems improve both experiences and outcomes of patients and make health systems more equitable and sustainable. We welcome contributions on a range of topics including, but not limited to:
• Improving equitable access to health services for all
• Novel perspectives on implementation and scaling up effective health services
• Advances in theoretical contributions or theory refinement
• Proposed hypotheses to better articulate complex challenges in health systems or service delivery
• Cost-effectiveness value in health
• Ethical perspectives relating to resource allocation
• Healthcare management for health workers and patients
Perspective articles aim to present a viewpoint on a specific area within health services. The articles in this collection may discuss current advances and future directions, and clearly present the author's perspective. Perspective articles should also provide an accurate presentation and citations of other authors’ work and may include original data as well as personal insights and opinions.
Opinion articles allow authors to contribute viewpoints on the interpretation of recent findings in health services, the value of the methods used, as well as the weaknesses and strengths of scientific hypotheses. They should be supported by evidence and fully referenced. The goal is to encourage constructive discussion and refrain from emotionally charged argumentation. Finally, Opinion articles must not contain unpublished or original data.
