Cities across the globe are facing incredible challenges to accommodate the ever-increasing population demanding clean and sustainable energy. Cities should make considerable efforts to increase the production and use of clean and sustainable energy. Sustainable cities are looking for net-zero emissions with a focus on modern clean and sustainable energy solutions. Rapid urbanization throws plenty of challenges to administrators, policy makers, and urban planners to meet clean energy demand. City climate governance requires a greater focus on sustainable city development.
The cities are increasingly facing challenges to becoming sustainable and energy independent. Access to affordable sustainable and clean energy is essential for city dwellers. The application of sustainable and clean energy solutions including solar, wind, biofuel, waste to energy, and hydrogen energy for cities must be seriously explored. Cities should develop independent policies and strategies for their sustainable future.
