About this Research Topic
The cities are increasingly facing challenges to becoming sustainable and energy independent. Access to affordable sustainable and clean energy is essential for city dwellers. The application of sustainable and clean energy solutions including solar, wind, biofuel, waste to energy, and hydrogen energy for cities must be seriously explored. Cities should develop independent policies and strategies for their sustainable future.
In the context of growing urbanization and increased concerns for global warming, it is necessary that the cities become sustainable and livable. This issue will serve to strengthen the existing body of literature on the theme of the journal.
The special issue will help to generate and disseminate knowledge on the following topics:
• De-carbonization of cities
• Clean energy solutions and supporting infrastructure for cities
• Public-private partnership for promoting clean energy solutions for sustainable cities.
• Clean energy demand for cities
• Clean energy policies and strategies for sustainable cities.
