About this Research Topic

Manuscript Summary Submission Deadline 08 February 2024
Manuscript Submission Deadline 28 May 2024

The passionate enthusiasm of young people entering the world of surgery and research is one of the driving forces of progress. However, not all trainees have the same opportunities, and the privilege of avant-garde training even in the scientific field is sometimes linked to the geographical area of origin.

Our goal is to enhance the figure of the trainee in the academic field, creating a community as inclusive and representative as possible of passionate research specialists. We are a group of trainees representing the 5 continents and we would like to propose a model of equity in the academic field rather than equality, aiming to create a community of growth in which the recognition of privilege becomes a support tool for those who have to fight for more.

Regardless of the topic, we look for articles written by trainees who want to enter this community, in which no one should feel a step behind.

Keywords: Training, Urology, urologist residency, global diversity, fellowships

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
