The aim of this Research Topic is to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements and challenges in nephrology. This multidisciplinary collection of articles will include but is not limited to:

- Chronic kidney disease

- Acute kidney injury

- Glomerulopathies and tubulopathies

- Mineral and bone disorders

- Diabetic nephropathy

- Vasculitis and lupus nephritis

- Progress in renal replacement therapy and modalities of dialysis

- Clinical and translational research in urine, plasma, and kidney biopsy biomarkers

Precision and personalized medicine that enhances the application of omics in nephrology as well as the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms.

Under the leadership of Prof. Vladimir Tesar, this Research Topic in Frontiers in Nephrology will explore various aspects of nephrology and provide insights to future directions for research and clinical practice. We invite original research articles, reviews, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, opinion or perspectives papers related to the latest trends, developments, and challenges in nephrology.
