Cancer, including digestive tumors, is a disease that poses significant threat to human health. Digestive tumors have been the subject of extensive research to understand its underlying mechanisms and develop effective treatment strategies. The progression of digestive tumors involves various factors such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, metastasis, and immune evasion. Understanding the key regulatory mechanisms in cancer cell biology and especially those linked directly to digestive tumors is crucial for the development of novel therapeutic approaches. This Research Topic aims to delve into these regulatory mechanisms and explore potential therapeutic strategies based on these findings.

The objectives of this Research Topic is to

1. Identify key components of the pathways regulating cancer cell growth and apoptosis in digestive tumors;

2. Analyze the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer cell metastasis and invasion in digestive tumors;

3. Investigate the molecular basis of cancer cell immune evasion;

4. Develop potential therapeutic strategies based on newly discovered insights, such as targeted therapies and immunotherapies;

5. Advances in basic research on other malignancies, including hematological malignancies, may also be considered.

Potential topics include but are not limited to:

• Molecular Pathways: Elucidating the signaling pathways involved in cancer cell growth, apoptosis, metastasis, and immune evasion in digestive tumors.

• Metastasis and Invasion in digestive tumors: Uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer cell migration, invasion of surrounding tissues, and metastatic spread.

• Immune Evasion: Investigating how cancer cells in digestive tumors evade immune surveillance and exploring strategies to enhance anti-tumor the immune response.

• Immunotherapies: Exploring innovative immunotherapeutic approaches that harness the immune system to target and eliminate cancer cells for digestive tumors.

Please note: studies consisting solely of bioinformatic investigation of publicly available genomic/transcriptomic/proteomic data do not fall within the scope of the section unless they are expanded and provide significant biological or mechanistic insight into the process being studied and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.

Keywords: Cancer cell biology, Regulatory mechanisms, Therapeutic strategies, Molecular pathways, Immune evasion, digestive tumours

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
