Manuscript Summary Submission Deadline 16 April 2024
Manuscript Submission Deadline 16 July 2024

In May 2018, the Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA71.7 on digital health. As a result of coordinated work and enormous efforts, the global strategy on digital health 2020-2025 was endorsed by the Seventy-third World Health Assembly.

In recent decades, vector-borne diseases have become a major issue for public health. With 80% of the world population living at risk, the sensitivity of vector-borne diseases to climate change, the incremental trends in the burden of disease, and pandemic potential that many of these diseases have - new approaches, such as the one provided by digital health, are required to counter the threat that they pose to health systems around the world.

In order to provide health care professionals with an updated insight on the developments currently in the pipeline, we invite submissions focused on digital innovations whose use might have a positive impact on the prevention and control of the most relevant vector-borne diseases.

We therefore welcome submissions relating to the following subthemes:

- Advanced surveillance
- Forecast of epidemics
- Artificial intelligence
- Preparedness
- Multiplex point-of-care and real-time diagnosis
- Innovation in prevention and control
- Community-based surveillance (engagement and impact)
- Institutional responses and responsibilities
- Innovation in the impact of climate change on vector-borne diseases

Keywords: digital health, innovation, Vector-borne diseases, surveillance, prevention, control

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
