This creates difficulties in tailoring individualized therapy for patients with urothelial neoplasms. Given the current classifications, emerging entities, diagnostic advancements, and both new and established therapy options, it is essential to comprehensively discuss urothelial tumors from these various angles. Persistent diagnostic challenges may arise due to subtle morphological changes occasionally observed in urothelial neoplasms, which may not accurately reflect their malignant potential. Urothelial malignancies consist of a diverse group of tumors with different morphological subtypes. Some of these subtypes exhibit unremarkable morphological alterations, while still showing potential for lymphovascular dissemination in very early growth phases, despite their rather blunt morphology.
This Research Topic aims to gather the latest advances in prevention, diagnostics, and therapy options, with a focus on the individualized treatment approach. Original and review articles exploring the mechanisms of urothelial transformation, the role of chronic and acute inflammatory immune responses, and different perspectives on known or less-known micro and macro environmental antigens responsible for altered urothelial function are welcomed. Additionally, novelties or state-of-the-art urological surgical technical aspects of curative procedures are encouraged. Advancements in therapy for urothelial neoplasms, including the incorporation of immunotherapy, have developed in recent decades. Therefore, articles that contribute oncology perspectives in the treatment of urothelial neoplasms are within the scope of this invitation.

- Is there a proven method of preventing urothelial epithelial neoplasms, and what are the underlying molecular mechanisms we currently know of?
- Why do seemingly benign urothelial lesions sometimes display aggressive biological behavior?
- Are there markers of potentially malignant phenotype that we may be overlooking?
- Are there emerging alternative therapeutic options being developed?
- What is the significance of the genetic molecular blueprint in urothelial neoplasms?
