Metabolomics Data to Knowledge

About this Research Topic

This Research Topic will be based on the MOVISS--“Mountain Village Science Series”--workshop held in Vorau, Austria (Sep 20-23, 2017). Unlike a traditional conference, the meeting is aimed at problem-solving and will concentrate on problem-driven discussions that aim to identify and address the leading challenges currently facing the field of metabolomics. For the scientific program, please see our website at www.moviss.eu.

Crucially, we also intend to publish a series of collective papers from the results of the discussion during the MOVISS meeting to enable the wider metabolomics community to benefit. Currently there are four main themes: "From samples to peaks," "From peaks to numbers," "From numbers to pictures," and "From pictures to understanding." We would like to follow the same structure for articles, encouraging the attendees to participate in the relevant section depending on their expertise.

We are seeking submissions aimed toward addressing how to deal with metabolomics data. Original articles, reviews, and commentaries on the subject of metabolomics data handling, bioinformatics and chemometrics, chemoinformatics dealing with metabolomics data and its challenges, are welcomed.

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
