Oncogenomics is an interdisciplinary field that applies genomic technologies to cancer research in order to uncover the molecular drivers of tumor initiation and progression. Advances in multi-omics—integration of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and epigenomics—are revolutionizing our understanding of cancer by providing a comprehensive view of the molecular mechanisms within tumors, as well as the interactions between tumors and their environments. These integrative approaches support the discovery of novel biomarkers, deepen insight into tumor heterogeneity and evolution, and improve strategies for personalized cancer treatment.

By combining diverse data types, multi-omics offers a more integrative perspective on cancer biology than individual technologies alone, yielding novel insights into the genetic, proteomic, and metabolic factors that drive tumor growth and therapy resistance.

As clinical oncology advances toward precision medicine, multi-omics approaches are playing a crucial role in identifying new therapeutic targets and developing tailored treatments that maximize efficacy and minimize side effects. This Research Topic aims to highlight innovative applications of multi-omics in oncogenomics and showcase how these technologies enhance cancer diagnosis, inform prognostic and predictive modeling, and guide the development of individualized therapies.
