Ongoing debates focus on the efficacy and safety of microbial inoculants and bioengineering approaches, while significant studies investigate the potential of harnessing microbial communities to reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

This Research Topic aims to delve into the role of microbiomes as mediators in plant stress responses, and to identify specific microbial interactions and inoculants that optimize plant physiology. The goal of this research is to optimize microbial symbiosis to enhance nutrient uptake and stress tolerance.
