Inflammatory skin diseases, such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa, represent a substantial global health burden due to their chronic nature, high prevalence, and profound impact on patients’ quality of life. Recent advances in molecular and cellular biology have deepened our understanding of the immune pathways, genetic predispositions, and environmental triggers involved in these conditions. The emergence of high-throughput omics technologies—including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics—has further enabled the systematic characterization of disease mechanisms across multiple biological levels. In parallel, the integration of bioinformatics and computational approaches has provided new insights into disease heterogeneity, biomarker discovery, and therapeutic targeting. Despite these advances, challenges remain in achieving early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and long-term remission. This special issue aims to gather cutting-edge research on the pathogenesis, diagnostic methods, and treatment strategies for inflammatory skin diseases, with particular emphasis on the role of omics data and computational models.

This special issue seeks to promote interdisciplinary research that bridges clinical dermatology with bioinformatics, systems biology, and network toxicology. We encourage submissions that explore novel disease mechanisms, identify diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers, and propose new therapeutic interventions. Special consideration will be given to studies that incorporate multi-omics data integration, machine learning, or artificial intelligence for pattern recognition, patient stratification, or drug repurposing. We also welcome contributions that develop or apply computational tools for analyzing complex dermatological datasets. Our ultimate goal is to facilitate the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice, thereby improving outcomes for patients with inflammatory skin diseases.

We invite the submission of original research articles, methodological papers, and reviews that address recent advances in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Bioinformatics and network toxicology studies related to skin inflammation
• Genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic profiling of inflammatory skin diseases
• Identification and validation of diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic biomarkers
• Machine learning and AI applications in disease classification or prediction
• Novel therapeutic strategies, including biologics, small molecules, and natural products
• Clinical trials and case series with mechanistic insights
• Development of software tools, databases, or computational models for dermatological research
All submissions should include appropriate validation of results, especially those claiming clinical relevance. Authors are encouraged to share code and data, where applicable, to promote reproducibility
