Hans Paerl: UNC Hurricane Expert

Hans Paerl, Professor of marine and evironmental sciences at UNC's Institute of Marine Sciences, students the water quality and ecological ramifications of climatic disturbances, including hurricanes, on estuaries and coast waters. Paerl also developed FerryMon, the first ferry-borne water quality monitoring system in the United States.
