Summer Course Interview with Robert Augustyniak and David Rodenbaugh

Summer Course Interview with Robert Augustyniak and David Rodenbaugh

This week we sat down with two Professors of Integrated Biomedical Science & Physiology, Professors Robert Augustyniak and David Rodenbaugh. Dr. Augustyniaks background is in Cardiorenal Physiology with a focus in Prenatal Programming of Hypertension, while Dr. Rodenbaugh has a background in Cardiovascular Physiology with a focus in Spinal Cord Injury. Both Professors, along with several others, including Biochemists, Pharmacologists, and Psychiatrists will be lending their knowledge to this course and its students.

Both professors are very excited to be teaching BIO 491 / HS 490 this summer, and have expressed their intrigue in being able to teach a set of undergraduate students who will generally have fewer classes in their schedule and hopefully be able to use that extra free time to participate more actively in class with discussion and projects. They also say that students should look forward to having a lot of hands-on time in the classroom, where only less than half of each class should be lecture. Also, they are looking forward to using a newer teaching method called Team Based Learning, which is explained more thoroughly in their interview.
