Prevalence of uterine malformation is highly variable, depending on study population and diagnostic technique. The prevalence is 5.5% in the general population, 8.0% in infertile patients, 13.3% in those with a history of spontaneous abortions, 24.5% in those with infertility and spontaneous abortions. It is well known that 3D ultrasound is the gold standard to diagnose uterine malformations, but different classifications have been proposed without a real guideline on the indication to treat it. The TRUST trial, the only big multicenter randomized trial on the topic failed to find differences in reproductive outcomes between patients treated for uterine septum compared with expectant management. This study was widely criticized by well known hysteroscopic surgeons for several bias. Moreover, if we consider different papers coming from these surgeons, the situation is completely different with very good results and high live birth rate after intervention.

This Research Topic aims to gather the latest scientific innovations on the surgical treatment of uterine malformations. It is also aimed to provide a thorough overview and update on the diagnostic tools that are currently available for the diagnosis of patients with uterine malformations and on the reproductive outcomes after surgical treatment of patients with uterine malformations.

We welcome Original Research, leading-edge Reviews, Clinical Trials and Case Series related, but not limited, to the following aspects:
- Novel surgical treatment of uterine malformations
- Diagnosis of uterine malformations
- Image guided surgical procedures performed for the treatment of patients with uterine malformations
- Reproductive outcomes of patients with uterine malformation with/without surgical treatment
- Psychological, demographic and social aspects of patients with uterine malformations before and after surgical treatment

Keywords: Uterine Malformations, Hysteroscopy, 3D Ultrasounds, Endoscopy, Pregnancy Outcomes
