The growing knowledge of human genome sequence has spurred the interest in functional genomics. Functional genomics focuses on understanding the complex relationship between genotype and phenotype, and often leverages high-throughput methods. Functional genomic studies strive to gain an unbiased view of the regulation of gene transcription, translation, and protein-protein interactions A more focused functional genomics approach determines the functional impact of genomic variation, The endeavor of functional genomics continues to shed light on novel biology and therapeutic strategies.

The goal of the Research Topic is to publish cutting edge functional genomic studies on vascular biology and diseases, further closing the gap between genotype and phenotypes, and revealing new mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

We welcome submissions of original research and review articles focusing on functional genomic studies of vascular biology and diseases, and functional genomic tools and their applications. Research papers leveraging omics techniques and integrative analyses of omics datasets to address questions in vascular biology and diseases are also within the scope of the Research Topic.
