Neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disorder (LD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), are chronic diseases that exhibit early childhood and persist throughout life. These disorders have notable impairments to children's studies, self-esteem, emotion and social adaptation, and the prevalence rate of children's neurodevelopmental disorders is increasing year by year. It is well known that signal pathways in cells affect the function of neurons and synapses, then neural circuits, to modify brain function/structure and behavior. In addition, it is likely that both genes and environment perturb the neural circuit underlying social interactions and behavioral deficits. However, we lack insight into the relationship between neural circuits and cognitive/behavior behind neurodevelopmental disorders. Thus, further understanding of neural circuits associated with cognitive/behavior is critical for the treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders.

This research topic aims to show the research progress on brain mechanisms underlying structural and functional changes in neural circuits on a local and global level in children with neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD, LD, ASD, and so on. Moreover, the topic encourages the researchers to use the advanced brain imaging analysis approach to understand the relationship between abnormal structural and functional networks and cognition/behavior in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

The research topic welcomes reviews and original research including but not limited:
- Research that contributes to addressing the abnormal structural and functional networks and their relationship with abnormal cognition/ behavior in neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Network dynamics approaches, including structural MRI/DTI, functional MRI, EEG, and TMS, are used to understand the abnormal structural and functional networks and their relationship with abnormal cognition/ behavior in neurodevelopmental disorders.
