About this Research Topic
Within the last decades, there has been a shift in vascular surgery from traditional high-risk open procedures to minimally invasive repairs. The term minimally invasive vascular procedures is defined as procedures that utilize small incisions and specialized instruments. These would vary from percutaneous endovascular techniques to hybrid procedures, laparoscopic vascular procedures, and even robotic techniques. Such techniques have improved the vascular health services provided to patients as they are associated with faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, and lower perioperative complication rates. As the technology advances, novel techniques and instruments are used.
The goal of this topic is to present the advancements in vascular surgery and highlight the shift towards novel and less invasive techniques. The aim is to publish manuscripts presenting novel techniques or instruments used in minimally invasive vascular surgery, as well as, reporting on outcomes of such procedures.
We welcome original studies, case series/reports or reviews. The type of procedures of interest could include novel endovascular or hybrid techniques, laparoscopic techniques, or robotic techniques.
