Emerging evidence indicates that certain parasites such as Schistosoma Haematobium, Opisthorchis viverrini and Clonorchis sinensis are one of the major causative agents of bladder cancer and cholangiocarcinoma, respectively, in endemic regions. Therefore, understanding how these parasites cause/promote oncogenesis and its etiology in humans will aid in the development of novel treatment strategies in effectively controlling the infection-associated malignancy.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Parasite oncogenes
• Infection-associated cancer biomarkers
• Parasite oncotargets and drug discovery
• Parasite-secreted products-host signaling pathways
• Phylogeny and population genetics of cancer associated parasites
