Surgical skill training as well as continuing medical education in neurosurgery evolved in an unprecedented pace in the last few years especially driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and corresponding social distancing measures. Modern visualization technologies and means of communication were already available and found their way into daily practice faster than usual.The aim of this Research Topic is to highlight the changes and improvements as well as new technologies and techniques utilized for surgical skill training and continuing medical education, especially in neurosurgery. We are looking for articles investigating new teaching and learning methods in neurosurgery. The collection should include different article on technologies such as online teaching, virtual and augmented reality, as well as, surgical simulation and modern means of delivering continuing medical education, e.g. hybrid CME sessions.This article collection is open to original and review articles, technical notes and editorials on surgical skill training and continuing medical education in neurosurgery. Authors researching neurosurgical education, teaching methods, new technologies and changes in daily practice regarding this topic are welcome to participate with their original research. Articles have to address one or both of the main research topics: surgical skill training or continuing medical education in neurosurgery.
