The 74th Congress of the Italian Society of Physiology (SIF) featured a rich scientific program, with plenary lectures, symposia, and oral communications presented by esteemed experts and promising young scientists. The SIF Congress then provides a valuable opportunity for discussing the latest developments in research areas dealing with basic and translational physiology.This Frontiers Research Topic aims to highlight a selection of high-quality contributions, ranging from original research articles to comprehensive reviews, submitted by researchers attending the SIF conference.
