This Research Topic will address the ongoing debate of the possibility to bring together the perspectives of phenomenological clinical assessment methods and neuroscience in neuro-psychiatry. Further, the contributions of neuroimaging on structural and functional level will be highlighted in the context of investigation of the high-risk for psychosis as an approach to early diagnosis and intervention. The problem of data translation and reification will be addressed by with an emphasis on the possibility of a translational cross- validation between functional neuroimaging measures and clinical assessment methods for depression. The conceptual routes to facilitate integration of diverse databases and sources of information will be presented on broader basis.
