Although a growing number of studies report the mechanisms of probiotics and postbiotics in improving one's health, the reliability of probiotics and postbiotics is still questioned by the public.
In recent years, the advances in multi-omics analyses have allowed us to generate a deeper understanding of the mode of action of these bacteria, the main components that contribute to their beneficial functions, and their interactions with other organisms within the niches. Here, we welcome research contributing to broadening the understanding of the mechanisms of probiotics and postbiotics to boost the acknowledgment of health benefits brought by the bacteria.
The goal of this Research Topic is to make a significant contribution to probiotics/postbiotics research by advancing the understanding of the mechanisms of action of probiotics/postbiotics, as well as revealing the identity of the key components that interact within the human body to promote health and wellbeing.
This Research Topic encourages submissions covering, but not limited to, the following themes:
• Mechanisms of action of probiotics/postbiotics
• Meta-genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies of prebiotics/postbiotics
