About this Research Topic
As for all scientific disciplines, the possible issues encountered in analytical chemistry are manifold, but chemometrics has been conceived for efficiently facing many of them: chemometric approaches, for instance, allow to explore complex multivariate data and highlight/unveil trends and correlations not observable otherwise.
The goal of the present Research Topic is to collect research works where chemometrics has been used for solving new and old analytical chemistry-related issues. Target studies can exhibit a clear applicative nature in the field of chemistry, but also a more theory-oriented setting. Furthermore, well-conceived reviews reporting the newest trends in this field of research and presenting a clear focus on the applications of chemometrics for the analysis of chemical data will be particularly valued.
We welcome Original Research, Review, Mini Review and Perspective articles on topics including, but not limited to:
• Process Analytical Technology (PAT)
• Process monitoring
• Characterization or authentication of value-added products (e.g., PDO foodstuff)
• Traceability of food (or food-related) products
• Novel chemometric methods finalized to the solution of analytical chemistry-related issues
