Social and administrative policy explores pharmacy and health care from the perspectives of psychology, economics, marketing, education, epidemiology, sociology, statistics, law and management. This Research Topic will examine strengths and weaknesses of medication use policy, medication marketing, evaluation of theoretical models that could impact practice and/or patient behavior in responses to social, health, and environmental challenges.
Most of the public health activity in both the developing and developed countries, is government-funded, and hence new information should be open to the public. We wish to capture a diversity of opinions across a broad range of fields, from the traditional (medication adherence; disease management; medication use policy; medication marketing etc.) to the new (big data, new technologies). The Topic Editors' goal is to consolidate research for social and administrative policy health professionals with a specific interest in policy and practice.
This Research Topic welcomes papers that will provide both theoretical and empirical findings. Potential issues include, but are not limited to:
• Medication products/programs/services; medication adherence; disease management; medication use policy; medication marketing.
• Social and health issues related to delivering health care services.
• Medical governance, medication management, and pharmaceutical management related issues including multilevel, multi-stakeholder, and multi-sectoral approaches to healthy and affected communities.
• Challenges, criticism, and ethical issues related to medication products/programs/services; medication adherence; disease management; medication use policy; medication marketing.
• The ideas that are relevant for the social policy, health policy related to concepts.
We encourage contributions from health policy-makers, academics, practitioners and consumers, as well as colleagues in other sectors whose work impacts on social and administrative policy. We are interested in how policy and practice changes over time, how it compares across the globe, and how it is realized at all levels from international to local. Whilst focused on relevance to practice, we are also keen to examine the theories and philosophies that underpin social and administrative policy. We welcome full research papers, brief reports, review papers from areas such as health policy, social and health psychology, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical management, public health. Papers on philosophical and ethical issues are also welcome.
