We are pleased to introduce the collection Frontiers in Environmental Science – Editor’s Picks 2021. This collection showcases the most well-received stand-alone articles from 2019 to early 2021, selected by our Specialty Chief Editors.  ​

The work presented here highlights the broad diversity of research published across the journal and aims to spotlight themes of topical interest. All research presented here displays compelling measurement and documentation of environmental change and highlights the need for stronger environmental policy, more sustainable use of natural resources, and greater commitment to biodiversity conservation. This collection aims to further support Frontiers’ strong community of scholars by recognizing highly deserving authors, as well as contributing editors and reviewers.
