About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to compile the latest results achieved in exploring biofilm inhibition and/or antifouling activities of natural products from different terrestrial and marine sources. Further, it will shed more light on the possible applications of potential hit compounds as antifouling agents or provide a step toward developing a starting chemical entity to produce antifouling agents.
• Isolation and structure elucidation of new natural products from different sources
• Determination of relative and absolute configurations of new natural products
• Assessment of biofilm inhibition of isolated compounds either new or known
• Assessment of antifouling activity of isolated compounds either new or known
• Review articles will be summarizing the recent results reported about biofilm inhibition and antifouling activity for natural products.
Keywords: Biofilm inhibition, quorum sensing, biofouling, natural products
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
