Frontiers in Sports and Active Living is delighted to present the ‘Reviews in’ series of article collections.
Reviews in Elite Sports and Performance Enhancement will publish high-quality scholarly review papers on key topics in elite sports and performance enhancement. It aims to highlight recent advances in the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We anticipate the research presented will promote discussion in the sport science community that will translate to best practice applications in high performance sport.
The Reviews in Elite Sports and Performance Enhancement collection welcomes full-length, mini or systematic review papers. We aim to develop a series of multidisciplinary research topics addressing a chosen sport or contemporary issue in sport science from different yet complementary lenses. New articles addressing emerging research areas will be added to this collection as they are published.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Performance analysis – sports analytics and visualization, data and technology management
• Instigating behavior change in athletes, resilience and wellbeing
• Understanding the female athlete – training, performance and the sporting environment
• The adolescent athlete – working with development squads
• Performing under pressure – training and competing in challenging environments
• Training and competition readiness – monitoring fatigue, recovery methods and nutrition
• The synergy of biomechanical, skill acquisition and motor control theory in technique changes
