Water scarcity is also a significant concern, affecting one billion people worldwide, with another three billion approaching the situation. Only 2.5% of the world's water is freshwater, and only 0.4% is the most valuable part. Adsorption cooling technology is one effective way of producing potable water and cooling from renewable and waste heat sources.
