About this Research Topic
Nowadays, the world struggles with the excess use of some chemical/synthetic-based products which negatively affect the environment and human health. Toxic and dangerous compounds impact on climate change, biodiversity loss, land erosion, reduced soil fertility, susceptibility towards diseases, and the increase of microbial resistance. These crises force scientists to use and rely on natural products and their extracts to mitigate the negative impact of such chemical products and help preserve natural resources to improve human, plant, and animal health.
In this Research Topic, we invite submission of manuscripts on, but not limited to, the following:
- Applications of plant-based natural products to increase crop productivity and protection.
- Plant-microbe interaction approaches for promoting soil fertility and plant development.
- The action of plant active compounds/extracts in plants as an antimicrobials, antioxidants, herbicides, and pesticides.
- Plant-based natural bio-stimulants to enhance plant tolerance against biotic and abiotic stresses.
- Application of natural products/extracts for food preservation and value-added food.
- Usage of bioactive natural products as herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides.
- Natural products as feed additives in animal nutrition.
- Application of natural products to industrial polymers and biofuels.
- Application of natural products for bioremediation and biodegradation.
