Natural products have always been an essential source of new drugs. In fact, most clinical drugs have been developed from traditional crude drugs and their derivatives. Researchers and practitioners in this field have long held as their ultimate goal the discovery of more effective treatments for people suffering from a variety of diseases. In addition to drug discovery, natural product research and development contribute to human and animal health and well-being in various fields such as nutrition, functional food, agricultural value-added, and applied chemistry.
The annual symposium, held October 27th to October 29th, 2023, will be an opportunity for us to come together to communicate and share our recent research discoveries with one another. In addition, the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic is gradually becoming normalized. During the pandemic, natural medicine and traditional Chinese medicine played an important role in treatment and health care and have attracted the attention of the people in the country and worldwide. Therefore, the 38th Symposium on Natural Products will review the critical contributions of natural products and traditional Chinese medicine to important human diseases and look at the future developmental direction.
This Research Topic welcomes the submission by attendees of the symposium and researchers in this important field of study of relevant work. Original research and review-type articles are encouraged.
All the manuscripts submitted to the collection in 'Frontiers in Pharmacology, Section Ethnopharmacology' will need to fully comply with the Four Pillars of Best Practice in Ethnopharmacology (you can freely download the full version ).
