About this Research Topic
The management of cardiac arrhythmias is complex due to their diverse nature and the individualized needs of patients. It is becoming obvious that the conventional approaches are often insufficient to provide personalized care, early diagnosis, and tailored therapeutic interventions. The key goals of the Research Topic are:
• Advance Personalized Medicine: We intend to showcase cutting-edge research and innovative approaches that embrace the concept of personalized medicine.
• Digital Health Integration: The special issue will emphasize the integration of digital platforms and technologies into arrhythmia management.
• Patient Engagement: Present studies and interventions that empower patients to actively participate in their care. This includes strategies for patient education, self-monitoring, and shared decision-making with healthcare providers.
• Value-based healthcare services: Demonstrate the economic impact of the use of digital platforms in arrhythmia management i.e. reduced hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and optimized resource allocation.
Ultimately, this research topic seeks to bridge the gap between the evolving landscape of digital healthcare and the complex challenges of cardiac arrhythmia management.
We invite researchers, clinicians, and experts in the field of cardiology and digital health to contribute to our special issue entitled: "Personalized Care in Cardiac Arrhythmias: The Role of Digital Platforms in the Management of Cardiac Arrhythmias" This Research Topic aims to explore the intersection of cardiology, personalized medicine, and digital health to address the complex challenges of managing cardiac arrhythmias.
Potential themes that could be included in this Research Topic are:
• Digital Health Platforms and the integration of other digital health technologies in cardiac arrhythmia management. Among others, the role of telemedicine and remote care in expanding access to specialized care for arrhythmia patients, with a focus on technological advancements and regulatory considerations could be also analyzed.
• The role of digital health platforms in patient engagement and empowerment, including strategies aiming to actively involve patients in their care through education, self-management/ self-monitoring, and patient education.
• Studies and articles focusing on the economic impact of digital platforms in arrhythmia management, as well as cost-effectiveness studies, potential evaluation frameworks, and strategies for optimized implementation
• The role of digital health platforms in creating solid datasets and optimized info-structures that could enable personalized approaches in the management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
