Clinical pharmacists are integral to medical treatment and critical in clinical practice. Their responsibilities involve various activities such as outpatient pharmacy services, participation in ward rounds, medication monitoring, drug concentration monitoring, medication use guidance, and consumer education. They act as a vital support for other medical professionals, especially physicians and nurses. Their role in enhancing the quality of medical care deserves to be documented, disseminated, and further explored.

This research topic will focus on the functional position of clinical pharmacists and explore how they can further enhance the quality of medical care. We welcome submissions of original research articles, brief research reports, systematic reviews, and policy and practice reviews. Contributions to this research topic should address but are not limited to the following issues:
• How can clinical pharmacists improve the quality of medical care? For example, clinical pharmacists may improve the quality of medical care by promoting and monitoring the rational use of drugs through innovative techniques and methods in their daily work.

• How do clinical pharmacists provide medication guidance and assess clinical outcomes? For example, clinical pharmacists may improve clinical outcomes through services such as pharmacy outpatient support, review of physician orders, and education on drugs.

• How can clinical pharmacists further play a role in the current models of care as well as individualized medicine? For example, efforts on drug description, multidisciplinary collaborations, and consumer engagement.

• How can training for clinical pharmacists be improved? For example, by designing appropriate courses, regularly conducting relevant clinical pharmacy training, establishing a comprehensive medical education framework, and enhancing healthcare quality.
