At present, research on new training methodologies, novel nutritional approaches, and the impact of extreme environments is gaining significant relevance in international literature. In this regard, new molecular pathways and physiological relationships are being discovered and consolidated, which can be of great interest for enhancing athletes' performance, as well as for the treatment of pathologies or improvement of fitness and the overall health of the population. This Research Topic aims to gather articles of interest that link physical activity, work in extreme climates, and sports nutrition to deepen understanding and establish connections between different pathways to optimize these responses.
We welcome the submission of articles that provide novel information on the effects of new training or exercise methodologies, innovative nutritional approaches, as well as the use of extreme environments on human health and physical performance. Authors have the opportunity to submit various types of articles, and for a full list, please click here
link. Emphasis will be placed on the combined effects that all these tools may have.
For this Research Topic, the following themes will be suitable for consideration for publication:
• Hyperthermia, health and physical performance
• Hypoxia, health and physical performance
• Cross-effect between hypoxia and hyperthermia
• High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) resistance and innovative training methods
• Intermittent fasting, ketogenic and low carbohydrates nutrition
• Cross-effects of nutrition and extreme environmental stress
• Physical exercise, nutrition and metabolism
• Exercise, thermal stress and anabolism
