Compared with traditional drugs, nanomaterials can effectively increase the disease's therapeutic effect and reduce side effects by improving pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties due to nanodrugs’ size, shape, and material characteristics. In recent years, in the field of tumor and neurodegenerative therapy, researchers have developed a variety of anti-tumor, anti-amyloidogenesis, and inflammation-regulation nanosystems based on reactive oxygen species (ROS). Additionally, researchers have also developed many antioxidant nanosystems for inflammatory treatments. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reducing species play a key role in the development of diseases.

As nanomaterials show great potential in regulating the tissue redox microenvironment by Redox reactions, and are promising for tumor and neurodegenerative therapy, inflammation regulation, organ transplantation, etc. It is necessary to develop new nanomaterials for REDOX regulation. Therefore, in this Research Topic, the aim is to cover the latest research on functional nanoparticles with unique capabilities for redox-related disease therapy.

We welcome Original Research, Review and Mini Review in the subtopics of interest, which include, but not limited to:

• Design and preparation of functional nanomaterials for Redox-related disease therapy
• The mechanism of Redox -related disease therapy
• Synthesis methods of nanomaterials, including vacuum condensation, hydrothermal synthesis, vapor deposition, etc. for Redox -related disease therapy
• Nanomaterials for tumor redox microenvironment regulation
• Nanomaterials for Cardiovascular Repair and radiation protection
• Nanomaterials for imaging of tissue reactive oxygen species
• Nanomaterials for neuropathology and neuroinflammation regulation
