We present the Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 'Emerging Talents in' article collection, a series dedicated to highlighting emerging talents within the fields of Psychophysiology and Cognitive Neuroscience.

While young researchers offer insightful research and contribute to advancing these fields, they often face significant challenges in gaining recognition for their work due to the competitive nature of academic publishing. Through this initiative, the Editors aim to provide a platform that not only showcases their innovative research but also acknowledges the dedication and effort they invest in advancing the fields. By providing an opportunity for these perspectives to be shared, the current Research Topic hopes to encourage the next generation of cognitive neuroscientists, giving them the chance to make a meaningful impact and foster connections within the wider academic community.

The research proposed here highlights the quality and diversity of young researchers across the fields of Psychophysiology and Cognitive Neuroscience. We welcome contributions in the form of original research, reviews, mini-reviews, case reports, perspective papers, as well as both experimental and computational studies that cover, but are not limited to, the following themes:

- Body representation
- Motor representation
- Sensory processing
- Multisensory integration
- Body-environment interactions
- Consciousness
- Neurorobotics and Brain-Computer Interface

We welcome works covering the entire lifespan—from newborns to the elderly, both in non-clinical and clinical populations (including neurological, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric disorders) associated with the topics listed above.

We encourage the submission of works employing behavioral measures, kinematics, psychophysiological (e.g., EDA, EMG, HRV), electrophysiological (i.e., EEG, sEEG), neuroimaging (e.g., fMRI, fNIRS, MEG), and brain stimulation (e.g., TMS, tES, DES) techniques.

Emerging Talents in Human Neuroscience: Psychophysiology and Cognitive Neuroscience 2025 will provide the academic community with the opportunity to follow the aspiring careers of our emerging, talented researchers, and possibly identify future leaders in Psychophysiology and Cognitive Neuroscience.

Please note: To be considered for this collection, the first and/or collaborating first, or last author should be undergraduate students, graduate students, or young researchers who received their PhD no later than two years before the time of submission.
