Cancers of the urinary system, such as bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer, have seen increasing incidence rates influenced by an aging global population and environmental pollutants. Despite ongoing efforts, existing treatments for these malignancies remain insufficient in terms of efficacy and diversity, which has limited the advancement of targeted therapeutic options. This has intensified the call for rigorous research to identify and develop novel anticancer agents that are more potent and less toxic.

This Research Topic aims to spotlight and accelerate the discovery and development of novel molecules that are highly effective and less toxic for the treatment of malignant urologic cancers. By focusing on molecules that inhibit cancer growth, prevent metastasis, and overcome mechanisms of immune evasion and angiogenesis, this topic seeks to enrich the pharmacological arsenal against urinary system tumors. It encourages the exploration of both biological macromolecules (like proteins, RNAs) and small molecule drugs derived from diverse sources such as natural products, microbial metabolites, and AI-driven designs.

To gather further insights into promising therapeutic avenues, we welcome submissions focusing on:
• Novel anti-cancer drug efficacy, mechanisms, and safety profiles
• Biological macromolecules and their roles in cancer treatment
• Small molecule inhibitors derived from natural or synthetic sources
• AI approaches in drug design and their impact on cancer treatment
• Comprehensive evaluations of anticancer agents in preclinical models

We will consider Original Research and Review articles. The studies should provide robust experimental evidence, and purely in silico studies are typically excluded unless they are corroborated by extensive in vitro or in vivo analysis. This Research Topic is particularly interested in contributions that showcase AI-driven molecular designs, efficacy testing, and toxicological assessments aimed at specific targets within the cancer pathway.
