The field of public health nutrition is critically relevant in the Arab region, which is experiencing substantial demographic, economic, and lifestyle changes. These shifts have dramatically altered dietary patterns and contributed to a range of nutrition-related health outcomes. The region now faces a dual burden of malnutrition characterized by rising obesity, non-communicable diseases, and micronutrient deficiencies, alongside persistent undernutrition. Particularly affected are specific demographic groups, such as children, who face significant nutritional challenges; the elderly, with unique dietary needs; and women of childbearing age, who are specially susceptible to nutritional deficiencies.

This Research Topic aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of both the challenges and opportunities for improving nutritional health in the Arab region. It seeks to foster a deeper understanding of how demographic transitions and urbanization influence public health nutrition and to identify effective interventions tailored to the region's cultural and socio-economic context. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary research that can inform and shape policy frameworks conducive to promoting better dietary behaviors and overall health outcomes.
