Despite the growing importance of this area, only a small percentage of researchers in STEM fields are women, with global statistics showing women comprise less than 30% of the research workforce. Long-standing gender biases and stereotypes have dissuaded many women from pursuing scientific research fields, particularly in STEM. To truly advance in healthy longevity, there is an urgent need to tackle these biases and stereotypes and support female researchers in the field.

This Research Topic aims to shine a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of women to the domain of Healthy Longevity. It recognizes that achieving gender equality in scientific research not only empowers women but also enriches scientific inquiry and innovation. Specifically, the objective is to promote and disseminate the research of women scientists who are advancing the understanding of healthy aging through innovative theories, rigorous experimentation, and the development of novel methodologies. Encouraging women in these roles not only supports individual careers but also enhances the collective scientific enterprise.

To gather further insights into the realm of healthy longevity with a focus on gender equality, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
