This limitation highlights the critical need for advanced experimental models that better encompass the pathophysiological intricacies of allergic reactions. Current research discussions emphasize the promise in organoids and other innovative platforms that can significantly bridge these gaps, providing new avenues for diagnostics and drug development.

This Research Topic aims to emphasize innovative experimental models that expand our understanding of allergy pathophysiology, bolster diagnostic accuracy, and facilitate therapeutic advancements. The focus of this topic includes models like organoids, organs-on-a-chip, ex-vivo tissue explants, C. elegans, and zebrafish. The incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as single-cell transcriptomics and gene editing with these models is encouraged, as such synergy promises to unlock deeper insights into allergic mechanisms and treatments.
