• address key aspects such as the evaluation and selection of original works, the development of impact metrics and citation analyses, and the measurement of reputation
• investigate how multilingualism, gender, and inclusion (employing a thematic inclusion approach) influence the production, dissemination, and reception of scholarly books, thereby promoting a more equitable and globally representative research landscape
• explore collaborative practices, with a particular focus on the patterns of co-authorship and co-publication that contribute to the internationalization of scholarly book production
• propose the creation of specialized databases that consolidate detailed information on book outputs, thus facilitating a rigorous and transparent assessment process.

By exploring global research networks and the barriers and opportunities for international collaboration, this Research Topic aims to enrich the current debate and drive improvements in assessment techniques within the field of research metrics and analytics.
