Despite progress, critical gaps remain in comprehensively understanding cytokinin signaling pathways and their integration with other growth processes. This calls for a deeper investigation into their roles and applications to develop high-yielding, stress-tolerant crops that fit into sustainable agriculture frameworks.

This Research Topic aims to explore the role of cytokinins and their intricate signaling pathways in enhancing plant resilience to abiotic stresses. By examining how cytokinins integrate with growth processes, we seek to inform new strategies for developing crops that can withstand challenging environmental conditions. Specific questions include: How do cytokinins modulate stress responses in plants? What are the molecular mechanisms underlying cytokinin-mediated stress resistance?
