Building on the success of "Exploring the Impact of Biologics in Nephrology: Clinical Advances and Future Perspectives", we are pleased to announce the launch of Volume II.

In recent years, the field of nephrology has been significantly impacted by the integration of biological therapies, particularly those targeting autoimmune responses and inflammatory pathways. While biologics have revolutionised the treatment landscape for chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease, their role in nephrology is equally transformative.

These innovations have made substantial contributions to the treatment of immune-mediated kidney diseases, leading to new paradigms in managing glomerular diseases and renal transplantation. Despite these advancements, there is still a necessity to explore and unravel the full potential of biologics in this domain, particularly regarding mechanistic insights and long-term outcomes.

This Research Topic aims to thoroughly investigate the advancements in biologics as employed within renal diseases. A key objective is to understand the mechanisms of action and evaluate the clinical effects of biologics on both primary and secondary glomerular diseases.

Diseases of interest include idiopathic membranous nephropathy, IgA nephropathy, C3 nephropathy, lupus nephritis, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated glomerulonephritis, and anti-glomerular basement membrane glomerulonephritis. Moreover, this research aims to explore novel applications of biologics in kidney transplantation, with a focus on outcomes such as enhanced graft survival and reduced rejection rates.

To gather further insights into the current landscape and prospects of biological therapies in nephrology, the scope of this Research Topic is designed to be both broad and precise. We welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
