Emerging research highlights their therapeutic potential across a spectrum of diseases, including neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal, and metabolic disorders. Due to their nanoscale size and versatile nature, EVs and exosomes can be engineered to deliver specific therapeutic agents, such as microRNA mimics or inhibitors. Recent studies demonstrate their promising role in disease treatment, especially when administered intravenously or intranasally, offering a non-invasive approach for targeting brain diseases. As animal studies continue to reveal the efficacy of these vesicles in therapeutic applications, the foundation for clinical translation is being robustly established.
